Beach Day Dress Up

YES, we are having a Beach Dress Up Day this Fri. Jan.27th.  Just for fun! The students may wear shorts, t-shirts and sandals.  They can wear warmer clothes over top in order to go outside to play as well.  How about sand pails and shovels to play in the snow–if we still have some??? I guess you could say this is an opposite day!  We have been studying about opposites.

Opportunity to Help

Hello Everyone;
We have just received word of another opportunity to help others; both within the community and our school missions team that is heading to the Philippines.
This will begin Wednesday, January 25 and run to February 16.

The Student Leadership Team is doing a combined effort of bringing in gently used clothing (adult and child, any season) for the Salvation Army Chilliwack Thrift Store, and basic school supplies to go to the Philippines with the HRA missions trip: pencils, sharpeners, erasers, pens, and notebooks.

This might be a good reason to clean out those closests!  We are taking adult and children’s clothes from any season.  Every year, the Salvation Army gives out over $85,000 in goods to needy families in our community.

There will be bins set up in the school foyer with labels to indicate where clothes go and where school supplies go.  All items should be placed in these bins.

We would like to see how many items we can raise as a school to bless our community and to bless the Philippines.

First Day Back

 We had a wonderful first day back at school. Everyone must have had a good rest.

A reminder for a few people who forgot: please bring nap time blankets back to school for us to use.

Looking for a couple of dress up items: purse, necklaces, lady’s shoes-2 pair (not too high of heels), man’s hat, suit jacket (small size), other possibilities ?? ask me.

A Favourite Centre

Perhaps, one of the most favourite classroom centre areas is the Fisher-Price Trio construction toys. Both Kindergarten classrooms have sets of these building blocks. The kids make amazing things with them: sometimes from the pictures and instructions given in the kits or just from their own imagination.

Christmas Program

As I am sure you are aware, our Primary Christmas Program is on Fri. Dec. 16. It is in the morning, starting at 9:30 and the students will be dismissed from the classroom as soon as we can get back after the program.

What are the students to wear? White shirts (long or short sleeves), navy or black pants/jeans/school pants are fine too.  We will be wearing red scarves and red waist bands that I am preparing. ** I could use a parent helper on Thu. and Fri. morning, first thing, to help put these items on the students. Note–the students can wear their pants on Thu as well for our dress rehearsal.

Thank you. Merry Christmas everyone!
